About the role
Our Customer Service Centre in Southampton is the hub of all things watch servicing and repairs for brands under the Swatch Group umbrella. We're on the lookout for someone who takes pride in their work and is passionate about quality, to join our Polishing team.

Your job will be to ensure that watches are carefully polished and prepared to the highest standards before they are returned to our customers. You'll use specialised polishing and grinding equipment to refurbish watch cases and bracelets, all while adhering to brand guidelines and quality standards.

Role and Responsibilities
- Use specialised polishing and grinding equipment to carry out refurbishment, polishing and finishing of watch cases and bracelets, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain equipment according to company and health and safety (HS) requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all to company and health and safety (HS) requirements.
- Meet individual performance targets and department service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with colleagues, supervisors, and managers to ensure smooth workflow and prompt resolution of any issues.
- Continuously develop skills and knowledge related to product releases or developments.
- Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, techniques, and best practices, fostering a cooperative and supportive working environment.
- Support other areas of the workshop as required.
What we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain high quality standards. If you've got previous polishing experience that's great, but not essential!
You must be able to demonstrate possess strong manual dexterity and the ability to manage and prioritize tasks to meet targets and SLAs. Please note that this role is based in a workshop environment where you will be using heavy duty machinery and will be exposed to machinery noise. You will be required to adhere to health and safety rules, including the use of PPE.
Skills and experience
Essential:
- Previous Experience: Have worked within a similar industry or with similar sized components.
- Attention to detail: Experience working to high quality standards with very strong levels of concentration.
- Positive attitude: Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop new skills, with a proactive approach to challenges and feedback.
- Good manual dexterity and coordination: Ability to handle small objects and tools with precision and care, using your hands effectively for detailed work.
- Ability to follow instructions: Adhere to brand guidelines, established procedures, and specific polishing techniques to ensure consistency and quality.
- Adaptability: Open to learning new techniques, adapting to different brand requirements, and adjusting to changes in processes or products.
- Time management: Able to prioritise tasks, manage workload effectively, and meet targets while maintaining quality standards.
Desirable
- Polishing Experience: Experience polishing / finishing watches.
- Interest in Horology: An interest in horology/watchmaking with long-term ambitions to develop a career.
- Customer Service: Experience in a customer centric environment.
Desirable Qualifications
- Formal polishing qualification (e.g WOSTEP or equivalent)
- Other watch or jewellery polishing courses.
