Job description

The Import and Export department is looking for a Customs Compliance Specialist that will function in various areas of responsibility to ensure that the company is in compliance with U.S. and Global Customs regulations.

Profile

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall Customs Compliance Procedures ( Import and Export)
  • Possess and maintains functional expertise in the customs regulations and customs broker practices
  • Ensures compliance with U.S. import and export regulations (current/pending/new regulations) and other government agencies
  • Assist with the implementation of Special Projects
  • Follows internal control procedures when working with brokers or customs.
  • Handles day-to-day compliance issues that delay the clearance of goods through the import entry process
  • Interfaces and liaises daily with Import/Export Department, as well as Distribution Center Operations
  • Carries out import, FTZ compliance, and internal audits. Working with CBP and other Governmental Agencies as needed

Professional requirements

  • Must have U.S. Customs Brokers license or Certified Custom Specialist (CCS)
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant import customs compliance/regulatory or internal audit work experience required
  • Knowledge of U.S. import and export regulations
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Customs and Warehouse/Distribution application systems preferred
  • Computer - proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Customs software tools required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Must have strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
