Job description
The Import and Export department is looking for a Customs Compliance Specialist that will function in various areas of responsibility to ensure that the company is in compliance with U.S. and Global Customs regulations.
Profile
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain overall Customs Compliance Procedures ( Import and Export)
- Possess and maintains functional expertise in the customs regulations and customs broker practices
- Ensures compliance with U.S. import and export regulations (current/pending/new regulations) and other government agencies
- Assist with the implementation of Special Projects
- Follows internal control procedures when working with brokers or customs.
- Handles day-to-day compliance issues that delay the clearance of goods through the import entry process
- Interfaces and liaises daily with Import/Export Department, as well as Distribution Center Operations
- Carries out import, FTZ compliance, and internal audits. Working with CBP and other Governmental Agencies as needed
Professional requirements
- Must have U.S. Customs Brokers license or Certified Custom Specialist (CCS)
- A minimum of 5 years relevant import customs compliance/regulatory or internal audit work experience required
- Knowledge of U.S. import and export regulations
- Working knowledge of U.S. Customs and Warehouse/Distribution application systems preferred
- Computer - proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Customs software tools required
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Must have strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
