Art on a football field
Interactive art event remedies football fever
At the Cité du Temps from June 6 to July 6 you can catch football fever without any warm-up or training, in a unique painting event dedicated to one of the world’s most popular sports.
The Cité du Temps has transformed its main exhibition gallery into a football pitch and decorated it with footballs, including balls painted by celebrities like Ted Scapa, Mario Botta, Michael Schumacher, Bertrand Piccard and Géraldine Fasnacht. In the place of spectators are huge canvases for the visitors to turn into art. No yellow cards, no red cards, just a carte blanche for you to help yourselves to materials and get painting.
There are 20 canvases waiting for your personal interpretations of football or any other topic your creativity feels like tackling. There will not be any qualification rounds and participation is open to people of all ages and talent levels. The absence of a referee’s whistle means that a session of football «field painting» can last longer than 90 minutes, or be as short and intensive as you like. This unique artists’ «stadium» is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm and admission is free.
Why be a spectator when you can score your own goals?
