Anniversary diver’s watch under the sign of the turtle

A lot can be accomplished in 60 years: The Sea Turtle Conservancy has been dedicated to protecting sea turtles since 1959 – the same year Certina celebrated the premiere of the DS Concept and its turtle symbol. The Swiss watchmaker is celebrating this double anniversary with a watch dedicated entirely to these astonishing sea creatures. A genuine diver’s watch, the DS Action Diver Sea Turtle Conservancy 60th Anniversary easily meets the requirements of the ISO 6425 standard. It takes up the colors and the logo of the animal welfare organization (Certina is a proud partner) and is presented in 2019 in unusual special packaging.

The DS Action Diver Sea Turtle Conservancy 60th Anniversary links two of the Certina brand’s major themes: the exceptional robustness of its timepieces, and the turtle symbol. With its unidirectional rotating bezel, generous Super-LumiNova® coating, screw-down crown, screw-down case back and water resistance up to 300 meters, it easily meets the ISO 6425 standard governing diver’s watches. The watch is powered by an automatic Powermatic 80 movement with a power reserve of up to 80 hours, mounted in a 43mm stainless steel case. A date display is positioned at 3 o’clock on the black dial. A black rubber strap with fold-over clasp, two pushers and a diver extension ensure a perfect fit, above and under water.

A sea-blue seconds hand and “Diver’s Watch 300 m” lettering take up the Sea Turtle Conservancy color; the case back features the organization’s turtle logo. In 2019, the 60th-anniversary year, the maritime timepiece is presented in unusual special packaging: the box, in the shape of the well-known Certina DS turtle shell, is accompanied by a matching key ring and an elegant anniversary badge. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each watch goes to the Sea Turtle Conservancy, in support of its important work in protecting sea turtles and their habitats.
